In his day Trevor was the Alpha at Niamh’s Misty Meadow. He
loved all the collies, giving them many kisses. He enforced his
rules, enforced the Man’s will and kept the collies in line,
especially when he wanted to take a nap.
Trevor would be napping when the other younger collies began to
wrestle, growling, barking and whining as they love to do. After several
minutes Trevor would up with a annoyed, grumpy look on his face. As
the ruckus continued he grew more disgusted and finally, not being
able to take it anymore he rose to his feet. Then he would rumble over
to the frolicking collies (to those who remember the Tom and Jerry cartoons
it was like Butch the bulldog rumbling over to smash Tom the cat!) and barking
and throwing his weight against
them he made them stop and separated them making them lay down.
Then, Trevor would down in front of them all, look at them with great
disgust for a minute or two daring them to make a move. When they
didn’t he would sigh, grunt and fall over on his side and go back to
sleep, enjoying the enforced quiet. The Man swears that sometime he
could see Trevor smile as he drifted off to sleep. Yes, Trevor ruled
the roost at Niamh’s Misty Meadow, a role he thrived in and enjoyed
immensely never letting on he had a soft side to the collies, but the
Man smiles for he knows better. Trevor had a heart of gold and loved
unconditionally the Man whom he adopted and saved from the dark days
of despair through his love for him. Through it all he became the
Man’s Trevor Forever.
