As it gets colder our play here at the Meadow transforms. We do much more running since we have to stay warm somehow. I throw all the toys that get thrown and after Lad’s ball flies I run across the yard behind him with all the collies chasing me!!! Well, today I had to stop for it was the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen.
In front of me was Branwen running around with her bat, Walter with his football, Lad with his ball while I was running up to them with Ginger hanging on one leg, Hallie hanging from a arm and Mick running next to me grinning like a fool and barking ceaselessly! Then, next wasEllie clinging to Skylight who was chasing us barking loudly. Last came Rutherford dragging a big long L branch from a tree that was three times the length of his body!!!
Then, Lad, Branwen and Walter would run back with their toys with Lad joining them and I would throw Rutherford’s limb with the others in various stages of clinging to me and barking wildly. Then, back I would toss their toys and it would start all over again with similar results except Ginger might grab a toy and Mick also proudly carrying them to one end of the yard and back again so we could start all over again.
It was a rather weird site with you would have to admit. What made it even more funny was the looks of glee on their faces…..what a motley bunch we were to see! The funniest was coming up behind with Rutherford dragging that huge limb grinning like a fool! Ah, just another insane day at the Meadow! The major question is who is more insane the crazy collies inmates or the crazy human caretaker? On second thought… dont answer that….

We all know who the real nut around here is…. it definitely is not one of us collies….
Those collies are working in the shadow of their leader, Chuck! You’re ALL nuts! If we could get the bunch of you animated, you’d have your own cartoon show! 🙂
Omigosh these dogs are so beautiful. I can’t get over all the different fur colours. And they look like they are having a jolly good time.
Thank you! They have a good time all day long. Our goal is to have happy collies and to give them a happy home… it makes us feel good when others think we are doing it well. 🙂
