A Mick update-He continues to rapidly heal and is doing much better than we expected him to do at this point. Thank you for your prayers! We appreciate your support and prayers so very much! THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
Also, slowly I continue to work my way into a new career path as my current workplace crumbles around me……. I hope this weekend to visit all your blogs and to catch up once again… thank yo so much for al your understanding and patience!
Now, today I woke up to -4 degrees fahrenheit. The roads were a wreck, visibility was poor and some ppl out there just cannot figure out that ice does not mean speeding up instead of slowing down….. I am rather proud of my HHR for still getting 30mpg with its best temps for the day during our coming home drive at 8 degrees fahrenheit.
Our play time was much shorter today but much more intense as the collie love the cold, but not quite this cold. So, they ran and played hard for our shorter period, except for Mick who listened to me and stayed by my side and even the crazy Rutherford seemed to sense that he could not wrestle with Mick, which was good.
When play time ended, or rather when the collies ended it they all ran for the door. It ended when I threw Lad’s ball and he just looked at me like I was crazy and I looked at the other collies and they were staring at me. I looked at Lad and he looked at me, then the door, then at me. I put his ball in its safe place and asked “ready to go in?” It was a stampede for the door…. I guess 8 degrees took its toll.
The cold today reminded me of a few years ago when we hit -22 below zero one night. The collies had to go out so I opened the door and they ran out to do their business as the steam rolled out the door from the warm house air hitting the frigid outside air. Then I saw Lad looking up at me at the doorstep. He looked out at the cold and then up at me and grinning he looked up at me and with his eyes never leaving mine he walked off the step where I could not close the door for his body was in the way yet. Looking up and grinning he stepped out and pivoting on his right back leg he slowly swung around and then walked back up into the house, stopped and blinked and then trotted off. I looked down and saw a nice yellow circle trail he had left the little devil. He went out to go but no further than he had too… LOL What a genius… what kind of dog thinks like that?
Tonight it will be another sub-zero night so let me again urge everyone to remind their friends and neighbors.. please provide shelter for their furry family members……
Ha! I am no dummy, I am not going out any further or longer than I have to in that cold weather!!!

Lad, you are VERY clever!
You got it right, Lad! You are apparently smarter than the old guy! Even though I wore my pink parka, I shivered in the -2 wind chills today. Mom said I am a wimp. That’s a good thing….. right…?
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Ginger says pee on her couch and see who is a wimp then.. muwahahahahah… oh oh here comes the old guy so I am off…

Good to hear that Mick is improving but sorry to hear that your workplace has not improved. God Bless.
When it is cold here neither boy wants to go out. I’m glad Mick is on the mend.

So glad Mick’s getting better. And glad I don’t have to get creative with pee circles. I got upset because a few raindrops hit my back yesterday.
Way to go, Lad! You’re smarter than a lot of people! Glad Mick is doing okay!
