Some Things Never Change

The Rutherford/Walter war started when they were puppies….. as you can see.  Each day as the sun rises, the birds sing and the dew drips from the plants a serene scene rules and then the back door opens and out come the collies and another day of the great Rutherford/Walter wars starts anew.  All day long they stalk, jump each other, battle playfully, charge and retreat and ark and scream and … well… its like two little boys outside playing war…..

As you can see even then Rutherford was the aggressive one…. Walter is about to become the victim again… but he fights back…

Ah, but not all is war… once in a while they make peace and hang out and have lots of fun and then will join forces in the big chase….  despite the looks of these pictures they are playing at war and enjoy themselves immensely.  Once while we were giving some shots we isolated Walter and we watched as the two brothers panicked and ran along the fence keeping them apart and it broke our hearts to hear them cry and scream for each other.  So. we put them together and it worked out just fine to give them their shots.   Many ppl who visit find it funny that during the everyday war raging across the backyard I can sit there oblivious and read a book.  I know they are having fun and this is the highlight of their day even still as they are now all grown up…
